If you are reading this it is safe to assume you have a love for animals. What is not to love about them right? They are amazing companions when we are lonely, they make us smile and provide unconditional love. But did you know they are helping you with so much more than that?
Before I continue let me start by stating if you have not read my post on this being an Inside out world then I recommend reading that first as that will help as I dive deeper into this understanding.
Back to how animals help us, I like to call them spirit guides in the physical form. Because that is what they are. They are loving and pure beings that are tapped into the energetic world pulling from our energetic fields. They are here with the purpose of keeping us on path by showing us where we are settling and what beliefs we have that are getting in our way. I'll give you an example.
I have a cat named Sally and she is constantly reflecting back to me my limiting beliefs. When I first became aware that everything is reflecting my inner world, I started noticing every night as I was washing up for bed my cat would flip a switch and relentlessly attack me. It is funny to think about now but I would have to walk backwards into my room and quickly jump on my bed to try and avoid her. Sometimes to no avail. Realizing it is all a message, I started putting things together. She is attacking me, so where was I attacking myself? It was right before bed, so what were my thoughts right before bed? As I became more aware of my thoughts at night I had a realization. Every night as I was getting ready for bed I was beating myself up so much for not doing more and not doing this task or that task.
So what did I do? I started seeing all that I accomplished each day and instead of what I didn't. I started writing out 1 or 2 non negotiables of what I wanted to complete each day and made sure to check those off so I felt accomplished. Notice it is about FEELING it. Because the limiting belief is all your perception and it does not mean it is true! It did not mean that I should be doing more each day but instead seeing and celebrating all that I did accomplish. Once I shifted my perception and my beliefs around this, my cat stopped attacking me before bed. Phew!
That is just one example of how she guides me. Animals not only show us with their behavior but also with their personality towards others. If your pet hides from people or attacks people or doesn't get along with other animals, it all means something that they are just trying to bring to your attention because we care about them so much. You can start by just becoming more aware.
There is so much more I can talk about with animals and how they show up for us which I will save for my podcast or future post! If you have any questions about your animal and what they might be showing you, feel free to message me. Thanks again for tuning in!
